My Baskets

I tried to take up a new hobby - making baskets.  But it takes a lot of patience, so it only lasted about a week.  Here are a couple of the baskets that I was able to make.  So I need to find another hobby.  Any suggestions?

Today I played tennis for my first time ever on clay!  It was fun!  Although I was afraid of falling, and I was out of breath after 5 minutes!  I really need to start training again!

empty metro

Ok, so i know everyone always talks about how Parisians all leave Paris for a few weeks in the summer for the holidays, but I never knew you could actually tell! Today we went to Boulevard Haussemann, and I didn’t even have to swirve and dodge around people walking down the sidewalk! No stress from the the crowds seeing as there weren’t any…and on our way home at 6pm on a Saturday, there was practically nobody on the metro. I guess they all really did leave for vacation!

vélos
Introducing Paris’ new form of public transportation…bikes! Yup, since last week, around 20000 new bikes have been in circulation in the streets of Paris. Basically, you take a bike, use it for 30 minutes, and then park it at another station, which they say are about as far apart as the metro stations. And it’s included in the normal monthly bus/streetcar/subway pass. Pretty cool, huh? I’m thinking of taking a bike home instead of the streetcar to get some exercise. It’s only 3 stops. That’s doable ;)
