The country of honour at this year’s Paris Cinéma Festival is the Philippines! So I decided to go to a screening of one of the movies tonight called “Kaleldo” (Summer Heat). Did me some good to hear a little Tagalog again!

3 more days till the movie opens in France! Carrie is so fabulous!

Today was the beginning of “la fête du cinéma”. You buy one movie ticket at full price (9€) and for every other movie you watch after, you can get your ticket for 2€. It lasts 3 days. So seeing as the weather in Paris has been really unpredictable lately, we decided to go watch some movies. First we saw Shrek the Third, and then Ocean’s 13 (with a little Starbucks break in between). A good thing about living in Paris is that you can see movies in VO (version originale), meaning in English, with French subtitles. So, we saw Shrek in VF (version française), and Ocean’s 13 in VO. Shrek I found a bit boring. Didn’t make me laugh as much as the others. Ocean’s 13 was good, although the press here only gave it one star out of four. Critics are always wrong anyway…at least for me.

Today we went to see Stomp the Yard (Steppin’). Great movie…loved the choreography, and the story wasn’t bad either. Other movies I’ve seen lately:
- Love (and other disasters) : good
- Spider-man 3 : good
- Mr. Bean goes on Vacation : BAD (but I guess I should have guessed that!)
