abaco bag

After surviving the Place de l’étoile, I managed to get a little shopping done before the stores closed, but I didn’t find anything. So, I decided to go back the following day. I stumbled upon a one of a kind (in my eyes at least) Abaco bag that I bought and then returned at Printemps (see above picture). Here’s the story. I bought the bag (it’s indigo blue by the way - so cool!), then decided to look around a bit more. Big mistake. Because around the corner was the Marc by Marc Jacobs stand and this pretty little thing. Torn between the two, I decided to return my indigo blue treasure and opt for a better known brand. The next day, I couldn’t stop thinking about the Abaco, which I havn’t felt about a bag for a long time. So…on Saturday, I went back to re-buy it. I know, bad Lyndsey! But I couldn’t help it. And I promise not to buy another bag for at least a year, which is a promise I am confident I can keep, seeing as I now have two new wonderfully awesome (and high quality might I add) bags. Vive les soldes!  And Happy Canada Day to all the Canadians reading this!

new shoes

My new Asics runners…you know, for the casual days. Or for days when the SNCF and the RATP decide to go on strike so I have to walk 30 minutes from work to hail a taxi (sorry, still mad about the strike last week). Aren’t they cute?

soldes
Today was the first Saturday of the big summer sale in France. How I love sale time in France. Everything goes on sale for up to 50% off! Today I bought a bunch of stuff from Kookaï…all at 50% off except for one top that was at 30% off. And a pair of wedge sandals from Minelli at 40% off. I better stay away from the stores now…at least for a few days ;)

Hippo art

Hippo art
After a swing by Kookaï stock with Fanny on Saturday (all tops for 10€ woohoo!), we discovered a really cool art deco store called As’Art in a cute little alley. It’s concept is to create free trade with different countries in Africa, and it started in 1991. In the boutique, they sell contemporary deco objects, made by people from different countries in Africa, and all created following their tradition and culture…and I LOVE. I ended up buying a hippopotamus made in Kenya with soap stone. It was hand polished in water, tinted, and carved. I originally wanted a pink one, but they only had really big ones left, so I ended up with a medium sized kaki green hippo. I also bought a bracelet woven with telephone wire…lime green! J’aimes beaucoup. It’s so smooth and pretty! I think the next time I go, I’m gonna get me a bowl woven with the same wire.

Grand arche
The other day, my co-worker and I took a long lunch and walked over to La défense after eating. There were so many workers out smoking, talking, eating. And it was so nice out too! Almost too hot. This is the base of the Grande Arche.

And this is me sitting at the base of the Grande Arche. I love these shoes, although they’re a bit old.

wet mellow yellows

Today’s forecast: sunny with a high of 23. Ok, so I wear my mellow yellow wedge sandals that I’ve only worn 3 times before and that I’ve started to be comfortable in. On my way home from work: downpour. Great!

Louis Vuitton
On the way back from renewing my passport at the Canadian Embassy today, we stopped by the Louis Vuitton store on the Champs Elysées (just for fun). This is the view from one of the windows on the second floor of the store. This is the bag I would buy if I had 660 euros to spend on a bag. Loves!
